Ready to start building your future? Here's how to get started with a career in the trades.
1. Pick a trade!
Each trade involves different skills or unique specialization. See which options match best with your personality and skill set!
2. start the application process.
Once you've narrowed down the trade/trades you're most interested in, we'll help connect you with the right people to move forward with the application process.
3. Submit documentation/interview.
Candidates who make it through the first few steps will be invited in for a formal interview. At this point, you'll also submit basic documentation, like a driver's license and high school diploma/GED transcripts. Because of our industry's emphasis on safety, you'll also be asked to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
4. Connect with local contractors.
Those who successfully complete the interview process will become employed by a contractor who is signatory to one of our local union partners. Each of these companies has built a reputation for excellence within our community, and they're committed to developing your skills and ensuring you receive the best hands-on training in your field.
5. Start working — and get paid.
Once you've mastered the basics, you'll start building on your skills while you help build your community. The best part? You'll start earning a wage from your first day, with periodic raises as your experience grows. Dig into a successful future with Build the QC!
